Going to the gym can be just the way to meet your health and fitness needs. A good cardio workout or lifting routine is paramount to living a healthy lifestyle, especially as we age. One of the problems with going to the gym however is that it is simply too crowded. Those who have had someone pacing behind them to finish up on a treadmill know exactly what I’m talking about. Without doing a little research, it can be difficult to determine when you should hit the gym in order to avoid the crowds. Here are a few tips to keep in mind before you hit the gym.
1.) You can basically forget about 4:30pm to 6:45pm- This may be the time you usually go and as you’ve probably noticed, so does everyone else. If you are looking for a gym time with limited traffic, it’s best to avoid this time altogether. If you insist on going at this time however, there is likely to be more limited traffic on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, so make sure you include these days in your workout week.
2.) Mornings are a great time to get fit- Some studies show that there is an extremely high number of gym members present on Tuesday mornings about 7am. This is because a lot of weekend warriors will skip Monday at the gym but never miss a Tuesday as that would make four straight days since they had worked out. Other than maybe this specific hour, you can’t really go wrong with morning. The earlier the better, as an early arrival almost assures you can get your work in unimpeded.
