Staying Healthy

Health is wealth. This proverb has no age and continues to be relevant even today. In fact the importance of health is all the more felt in today’s tough and competitive world. In good old days the needs of people were limited and human being was satisfied with bare minimum necessities. With growth of technology and having the opportunity to see the outside world, man became more and enlightened and his needs also increased manifold.
Thus started a mad scramble for becoming materially more successful. Though the need for the best things in life was there previously too, today’s society especially the younger generation have become far too aggressive and demanding in their quest for a better life. While this is really a welcome sign, it also underscores the importance of good health to achieve today’s man’s material needs.

Without being physically and mentally fit it would be almost impossible for him to reach his material goal. While this is one part of the story as far as people with avenues to growth are concerned, there is another big group in fact the bigger group who are deprived of basic health facilities and are purely left to the vagaries of nature as far as their staying healthy and being fit is concerned.

Being healthy is not all about taking periodical medicines and having an artificial sense of well-being. It is more about being internally fit and this can happen only if we as individuals believe in the basics to good health, i.e. nutritious food habits, good physical and mental activities and spending time in activities which make us better human beings like indulging in philanthropy etc. By nutritious foods we mean food which is close to nature.

It is always better to avoid non-vegetarian food and switch over to vegetarianism. Fruits, vegetables and cereals are easily digestible and healthier sources of food which should be encouraged by all or us.
